Julia was born in Leeds and grew up in Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales.
Julia moved to the North East to study Media at Sunderland University in 1994 she spent three years there and then lived in Gateshead for a year whilst working to save money for a Post Graduate Journalism course.
Having studied journalism for a year in Preston Julia got a job as news reader/reporter at the newly launched Galaxy Radio in Newcastle and returned to the North East. From there she moved to Metro Radio and BBC Radio Newcastle. In 2001 she came to Tyne Tees as a news reporter. She is now back in the same building where she studied at Sunderland University working in Tyne Tees’ Sunderland office as the district reporter.
Julia lives in Sunderland and supports the city’s football team. She loves walking on the beach, going out with friends, holidays as often as possible and reading. She goes to the gym but doesn’t particularly enjoy it.
